Program Overview

Our mission is to nurture responsible financial leaders of the future. In addition to a strong foundation of financial knowledge and relevant work experience, social responsibility and professional ethics are values we emphasize throughout the curriculum. Students will take part in a range of action-learning projects where they are tasked to tackle real-world financial challenges and make decisions based on ethical principles. Such hands-on approach to learning will also help our graduates be workplace-ready.

Synergy from academic and industry experts

The EMF program teaching faculty consists of world-renowned scholars and industry experts.

All our full-time professors are Ph.D. graduates from prestigious universities in North America, Europe and Asia. We also have Special Term Professors who are tenured professors from some of the best business schools and recognized leaders of their fields.

Finance is an industry-driven discipline. That is why we will appoint senior figures of international organizations, government agencies and renowned enterprises as Professors of Practice, to share with our students their real-world experience.

Equal emphasis on theory and practice

Our comprehensive, best-in-class curriculum covers both classic financial theories and contemporary phenomena such as the latest developments in capital markets, Fintech and cutting-edge financial tools. Towards the end of each module, students will be asked to apply their classroom learning by undertaking a project designed by one of our industry partners. Such action-learning pedagogy does not only enhance students’ problem-solving ability but also teamwork and leadership skills.

A global outlook

To give our students a truly global outlook and exposure, we offer them two opportunities each academic year (during the winter and summer vacations) to study in North America or Europe. Students are required to complete at least one of these overseas modules during their studies. In addition, our program is taught entirely in English, creating an inclusive study environment for international students.

Comprehensive career development support

Our Professional Development Center provides a wide array of services to our EMF students, from finding a job–one-on-one career counseling, CV writing, mock interviews – to being successful in a job – inter-departmental communication, public speaking, industry ethics etc.

The PDC also helps identify action-learning project and internship opportunities from its vast industry network. Students will have access to a range of industry sectors such as investment banking, portfolio management, quantitative analysis, research and consulting, real estate finance, Fintech, etc. Through projects and internships, students can get a taste of what it is like working in the sector of their choice and find their true passion.
