Ma Jun

Overview

Dr. Jun Ma is the director of Research Center for Finance and Development, Tsinghua University, member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People’ Bank of China and director of the Green Finance Committee of China Society for Finance and Banking. He is also the co-chairman of the G20 Green Finance Research Group and senior advisor of the United Nations Environment Program.

From 2014 to 2017, he served as the chief economist (this position was firstly set by Central Bank) of the Research Bureau of the People’s Bank of China.

In the past three years, Dr. Ma Jun's voice has calmed the market anxiety for so many times that the media called him "one of the official spokesmen to public of the central bank in the field of macroeconomic research". During his tenure and under his leadership, Green Finance Research Group put forward 14 proposals for the development of green finance. In the meanwhile, he chaired the drafting of Guidelines on the Construction of Green Financial System, and promoted the formation of a global consensus on the development of green finance under G20 framework.
