Dr. Richard Wang is currently a Visiting Scholar at Fanhai International School of Finance, Fudan University (FISF) and the Associate Director of the school’s Fintech Research Center.  Prior to this, he was a fulltime Visiting Associate Professor of Practice and Director of LIVE Learning Center at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), Shanghai Jiao Tong University and taught management at Chihlee University of Technology, Taiwan.

Dr. Wang is one of the founding partners and COO of NewRiver Capital Partners, a specialized investment management company.  He has over 20 years of experience working in the financial and investment industry.  As an entrepreneur, he participated in startup ventures in family entertainment/F&B, real estate, insurance, private equity, education, and mobile app development.  Prior to joining startups, Dr. Wang has worked at Blackstone real estate investment in Hong Kong and a non-life insurance company in Taiwan responsible for business strategy and development. 

Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. in Risk Management and Insurance from Nankai University and M.B.A. from University of Texas at Arlington.
