Research Fellow in Insurance Innovation and Investment Research Center, Fanhai International School of Finance, Fudan University. Chen Shuo is currently a professor of Economics at Fudan University. Chen studied in the Department of Social Sciences of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (2006-11, Ph.D., Social Sciences), Economics (2005-06, Master of Economics) and Accounting, Shandong University (1998-2002, Bachelor of Management). Chen's research interests focus on development economics, political economy, economic history and applied micrometrics.

Chen's English studies are published in top journals of economics and political science, such as American Political Science Review, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, and Journal of Growth Economics, and Chinese results are published in Economic Research, Financial Research, Managing the World, World Economy, Statistical Research, and Economics (Quarterly) and other authoritative domestic journals. In addition, he has a monograph and a translation. At present, Chen also presides over three NSFC projects (youth, general and key) and three provincial and ministerial-level projects and major topics.

Chen Shuo is also actively involved in other social activities, serving as editor of the editorial department of the World Economic Exchange magazine and an anonymous reviewer of several academic magazines at home and abroad. Not only does Chen Shuo's research have a wide range of academic influence, but it also has important policy implications: several papers were reproduced in full by the National People's Congress, winning the first prize of the 12th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievements, the second prize and the 2019 "Aoki Changyan" Winner of the Economic Paper Award, 2017 China Young Economist Award, won the "Four Talents" of the Ministry of Central Propaganda, Shanghai "Pujiang Talent", "Social Science Newcomer" and Fudan University "Zhuoxue Scholar", "Excellent 2025 Talent" He is also the consultant at World Bank, a communications review expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a communications review expert of the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, and an expert of a lookout think tank.
