Overview

Gang Zhang, Visiting Assistant Professor (Teaching-Track) of Economics at the International School of Finance, Fudan University.

Professor Zhang is a macroeconomist with research interests in macro-finance, production networks, and international macroeconomics. Prior to joining FISF, he was an assistant professor of economics at the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. He has also served as a summer dissertation intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and as a Research Fellow at the Inter-American Development Bank. In addition, he has held visiting researcher positions at the Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies (2025) and the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary and Financial Research (2022).

Professor Zhang received his Ph.D. in economics from University of Virginia in 2018, master in economics from Duke University in 2010, and bachelor in economics from Zhejiang University in 2008.
