In the meeting, Professor Jun Qian gave the opening speech. He first expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the participating industry representatives, and then introduced the school development to industry representatives in four aspects of the teaching faculty, thinktank achievements, talent cultivation and domestic and foreign exchanges and cooperation. Ever since its establishment, the school has constantly strengthened its teaching faculty and made steady progress in broadening the scale of EMF and FMBA, made remarkable thinktank research achievements, developed in depth and breadth domestic and foreign exchanges and cooperation, and cultivated a large group of excellent talents with global financial vision and a deep understanding of China’s financial practices. Later, Professor Charles Zhang delivered a speech and presented the progress and achievements of the school’s establishment of industrial ecosystem. He pointed out that any cultivation relies on the ecosystem in the nature, and the same is true to student education. In FISF, the industry-university ecosystem consists of four major parts, LIVE mentors, industry mentors, cooperative enterprises and industry interviewers. He said in the future, the LIVE (Learning through Integrated Vicarious Experience) program will be more closely integrated with courses to realize cross-school and transnational joint cultivation. Moreover, he gave a detailed explanation of the 3R principle of the course design of this course, referring to RIGOR, a curriculum system design with both depth and breadth, RELEVANCE, the teaching mode of academic professors and industry experts, and RESPONSIBILITY, the L.I.T.E. series course empower future financial leaders with soft power. Under the guidance of the 3R principle, the LIVE program has become increasingly important as the core education instrument of the school. He stressed that FISF’s three degree programs of EMF, FMBA and FEMBA will continue to adopt and improve the LIVE teaching method, and, by integrating the systematic curriculum design with on-the-spot teaching by industry mentors, help students lay a solid foundation while also consolidate their practical ability.

Subsequently, the four industry representatives shared their life experience as partner enterprise, industry interviewer, LIVE mentor and industry mentor respectively, and accepted the “2021 Distinguished Contribution Award” granted by the school. They expressed delight for the school’s high-quality students and leap-forward development, and spoke highly of its industry-university construction, believing that the ecosystem not only serves the students but also creates a platform for them to interact, communicate and grow, which is also a witness of their pursuit of excellence. In the end, they proposed new expectations on the cooperation between the school and the industry.

After the speeches, the participating industry representatives took group photos to record the valuable memory of their mutual growth with the school.

Since establishment, FISF has maintained the school-running mission of “broadening the global vision, serving national financial strategies, shaping top financial talents and achieving leading financial thinktanks”, cultivating a large number of excellent elites for the emerging financial industry in China. The cultivation of excellent talents relies on excellent student sources while the latter reflects from the side the high quality and strong power of the program.

Take the two programs of EMF and FMBA for example: EMF 2019 and 2020 enrolled over 170 excellent students from 14 countries and regions on five continents around the world, among whom 80% of the Chinese mainland students had backgrounds of domestic universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University and Jiao Tong University. And there were also other equally brilliant students from top universities worldwide, such as the University of Pennsylvania in the US, London School of Economics and Political Science in Britain, the University of Toronto in Canada, National University of Singapore and National Taiwan University.

In 2021, the first session students of FMBA FT+ consisted of excellent students graduating from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Oxford University, London School of Economics and Political Science and other renowned universities around the world. The programs’ high level of internationalization is represented by the applicants from countries and regions of the US, Canada, France, Morocco, Singapore, Hong Kong China and Taiwan China.

In 2021, FMBA PT+ welcomed its third session elite students who had both outstanding education backgrounds and extraordinary career portfolios. Many of them were graduates from domestic C4 universities and famous universities overseas, such as Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the University of Hong Kong and the University of Washington, among them 15% had master’s degrees and above, 86% had finance-related backgrounds and nearly 70% took positions of critical management in enterprises.

High-level professional talents with global visions can naturally display ultra-strong competitiveness when applying for jobs. According to the statistics of FISF PDC (Professional Development Center), by May 2021 100% of the first session graduates of Full-time EMF had acquired their ideal job offers, handing in a perfect performance report of employment. They have already started their new journey of career life, taking core positions in domestic and overseas top financial institutions, world-leading technology companies, famous consulting companies, Chinese government units and first-rank entity enterprises.

In 2021, with the enrollment of new students of the first session of Full-time FMBA and the successful graduation of EMF and FMBA PT+ first session students, the ecosystem jointly built by FISF and the industry has “just unveiled its power”.
