What sets the EMF program apart?

Rigor is provided by our exceptional faculty, generating some of the most important research in the field. Our well-designed curriculum taught by the professors provides students with a solid foundational understanding of the core theories and constructs of modern finance.

Relevance is delivered through our practical LIVE learning focus, commitment to professional development, and deep industry interactions. It ensures that what students are taught is firmly rooted in industry and that our students are equipped to make an immediate impact on the global finance industry.

The admission process aims to identify the high-potential young minds around the globe. All of our international students are from world top universities, possessing an outstanding academic background, professional passion and aiming to become a future leader in the field of finance. Our current EMF body consists of international students from 18 countries and regions including graduates from University of Oxford, University of Chicago, National University of Singapore, UCL, LSE, University of Toronto, McGill University, UBC, University of Melbourne, etc.

What is LIVE Learning Project?

Towards the end of each learning module, students will be tasked to apply their classroom learning by undertaking a project designed by one of our industry partners. LIVE learning aims to help students to transfer the knowledge they have learned from the previous lectures into their own practical understanding and critical thinking, problem-solving skills, workplace abilities and behaviors. It is a leap from traditional class-room learning. All the projects are real cases provided by our industry partners instead of from textbooks. Instructors for LIVE projects are composed of lecture professors and industry experts. And students are required to work in teams and assessed by presentations.

What is Overseas Module?

Immerse yourself in the pulse of global finance through our EMF curriculum, featuring an elective overseas course. Gain a truly international outlook as you explore the top financial centers worldwide, broadening your horizons and deepening your understanding of the global financial landscape.

The 2023 Spring Semester's overseas module course came to a successful conclusion in Singapore. Throughout the course, students had the opportunity to listen to insights from university professors and industry experts, visit renowned companies, and engage in cultural exchanges. This enriching and delightful study tour encouraged them to learn independence, experience different cultures, and embrace collaboration from the moment they embarked.

What is the dual degree program to apply?

The EMF program has launched the dual degree program with Columbia University. EMF students are able to apply for certain programs in Columbia University and obtain two degrees from both Fudan University and Columbia University. Are there any restrictions on applicants’ undergraduate majors?

No. In fact, the concepts learned and the abilities developed from your undergraduate studies also give you a lot to leverage in the EMF program and the finance industry.

More importantly, the EMF curriculum that features rigor, relevance and responsibility will give you a solid grounding of the core theories and constructs of modern finance, to make sure what you learn is highly relevant and applicable to the real business world, keep you up with the frequent explosion of knowledge of the finance industry, and prepare you to embark on a career in finance to achieve future success and advance global good, regardless of your undergraduate major.

To give you a rough idea, 55% of our current students have bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics, 25% are in science and engineering and 20% are in literal arts. Diversity in backgrounds and passion for finance are what we see from them. They bring their different experiences and viewpoints to the EMF community while sharing the same aspiration for excellence.

Any preparation advice for applicants?

First of all, you should read carefully about the admission information (Click here) to be fully aware of all the important sectors including the deadlines and scholarships, etc. and manage your time and efforts accordingly.

Secondly, it’s important that you take the time to fully assess what your passions are, what your advantages are, what your vision might be while preparing the materials and doing the writing. It will be an excellent opportunity to do some self-reflection at this stage of life.

Does the EMF program offer any assistant in preparing to study in China for international students?

Upon your acceptance to EMF admission offers, you will have full access to our pre-enrollment program (including Chinese classes) and be receiving regular pre-arrival communication newsletters from us featuring different topics and useful tips from visa support, accommodation to packing tips, orientation to help your transition into this vibrant community. The C.A.R.E. China program is designed especially for international students to know better about China through the study of its history, literature, and art.
