The 5th Shanghai International Financial Forum

 

On October 12, 2025, the 5th Shanghai International Financial Forum hosted by Fudan International School of Finance was held at Xianghui Hall, Fudan University. Themed on “Technological Innovation Empowering Capital Market, Finance Boosting High-quality Development”, the forum gathered experts and scholars from various industries, who had a discussion on core topics concerning the economic development in China and the world and looked ahead to the future prospects of China’s macro-economy and capital market from a global perspective.

 

Li Jin, President of Fudan University, gave a keynote report at the forum. Other distinguished guests attending the forum included: Guangshao Tu, Chairman of Shanghai New Finance Research Institute and Former Vice Chairman and General Manager of China Investment Corporation; Xingao Gong, Academician of CAS and Xie Xide Chair Professor at Fudan University; Wenlan Xie, Official at Deputy Director-General Level, Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission; Yuejiang Li, Secretary of FISF Party General Branch and Secretary of the Branch Party Committee of the School of Economics; Jun Qian, Executive Dean of FISF and Professor in Finance; Qingping Nie, Distinguished Professor in Finance at FISF and Former Chairman of China Securities Finance Co., Ltd.; Wenzhong Fan, Deputy Director of Beijing Academy of Social Sciences and Distinguished Professor of Practice at FISF; Mingfeng Yan, President of Shanghai Technology Exchange; Donghui Shi, Professor in Finance at FISF and Deputy Director of China Institute of Financial Rule of Law, Fudan University; Luyang Zhang, Director of China Venture Capital Research Institute, Fudan University and Academic Director of Master of Technology Transfer, Fudan University; Xiaoling Zhang, General Manager of Hua An Fund Management Co., Ltd.; Zhenxing Li, Managing Director of CSC International Investment Banking Department; Jianyue Pan, Founding Partner of SummitView Technology Innovation and Chairman of Shanghai Univista Group Co., Ltd.; Weijie Wu, Vice President of Zhipu AI; and professors at FISF.

Opening Speech

In the opening speech, Yuejiang Li expressed a warm welcome to all guests in attendance. He pointed out that this forum, themed on “Technological Innovation Empowering Capital Market, Finance Boosting High-quality Development”, aimed to promote high-level dialogues and mind exchanges in the field of technology and finance.

Keynote speech

Li Jing gave a keynote speech entitled “serving national major strategies and jointly building a high-quality innovation ecosystem”, sharing the opinions and measures of Fudan University on technological innovation, achievement transformation and the construction of the innovative ecosystem.


Jun Qian had a dialogue with Li Jin on topics of “the current status, risks and opportunities of international exchange and cooperation in the transformation process of scientific research achievements”, “assessment of the commercial value of scientific research achievements” and “expectations on the Master of Technology Transfer of Fudan University”.

 

Guangshao Tu gave a keynote speech entitled “serving the real economy and deepening financial function”, explaining to the guests the methods adopted by financial services in serving the real economy and the corresponding significance of doing so.

Jun Qian had a dialogue with Guangshao Tu on “How to boost consumption and expand domestic demands in a short term through the coordination of monetary and fiscal policies?” and “How financial institutions can provide better and comprehensive services for Chinese enterprises going global?”.

 

Roundtable dialogues

There were 2 roundtable dialogues at the forum. The first one focused on “leaping over the ‘innovation gap’: multi-finance empowering a new ecosystem of technology transfer”. Xingao Gong, Mingfeng Yan, Jianyue Pan and Weijie Wu gave analysis on issues concerning methods for financial institutions, research institutes, enterprises and other different subjects to better coordinate and cooperate with each other and the major financial pain points incurred during the process of existing technology transfers. Based on their respective professional expertise, the guests engaged in in-depth discussions focusing on the actual application and market implementation of cutting-edge technological achievements, the role of Technology Exchange in facilitating sci-tech achievement transformation, the valuation and investment methods for achievement transformation, and entrepreneurial advice for high-tech talents from an enterprise perspective. The dialogue centered on current practical needs while envisioning future innovation paradigms. Luyang Zhang presided over the dialogue.

 

The second roundtable dialogue set sights on “Breaking the ‘transformation dilemma’: opportunities for China’s capital market amid global changes”. Wenzhong Fan, Xiaoling Zhang, Zhenxing Li and Donghui Shi expounded the impact of the global situation upon China’s capital market from macroeconomic perspectives, present the current reality and envision future opportunities from the perspective of investment practice. Combining their abundant practical experience, the guests profoundly exchanged ideas upon issues like the influencing factors and investment themes of China’s capital market, the future trend of A-share, and the way enterprises formulate strategic decisions in the capital market and respond to stock market challenges from a regulatory perspective. Together, they focused on hot spots at present and predicted potential financial risks in the future. Qingping Nie presided over this dialogue.
