Drawing on academic journal papers and conference papers indexed by CNKI from 2015 to 2024 and taking the Paper Citation Standardized Index (PCSI) as its core evaluation indicator, the evaluation list of “National Highly Cited Scholars” identifies scholars with rich research output and notable academic influence across various disciplines. Approximately 120,000 scholars were selected for the “2025 CNKI National Highly Cited Scholars” list, including around 30,000 Top 1% scholars and 90,000 Top 5% scholars. A total of 1,064 faculty members from Fudan University were named to the National Highly Cited Scholars list, including 416 Top 1% scholars and 648 Top 5% scholars.
Upholding the school motto of “Unified FISF, Excellence, Responsibility, Innovation”, FISF scholars devote themselves wholeheartedly to the academic research work and manage to maintain a high level of academic achievements in both quantity and quality. Their being included in the list of “National Highly Cited Scholars” is a resounding affirmation of the academic research achievements of the teaching team of FISF and a demonstration of its outstanding strength and surging power. In the future, FISF will continue pursuing international cutting-edge scientific research achievements and making greater contributions in promoting first-class financial and economic disciplines.
Shiyi Chen
Distinguished Professor in Finance at FISF
Director of Fudan Institute of Green Finance
Professor Shiyi Chen conducts academic research in the directions of: China’s economic transformation and financial development, the economics of energy environment, climate change and applied econometrics. Professor Chen also takes the lead in the thinktank research team on green finance, the development of Shanghai and Hong Kong, and sustainable development. He has published many academic papers in Chinese journals like Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal and Journal of Financial Research as well as English journals like Journal of Econometrics, Energy Economics and China Economic Review.
He has published three textbooks, Econometrics, Advanced Econometrics (High Education Press) and Introduction to Green Finance (Fudan University Press) and four academic works, including and Research on Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction, Structural Adjustment, and Transformation of Industrial Development Modes and Energy Environment and Economic Transformation in China (Routledge Taylor & Francis Group). He is the editor-in-chief of the four books of Fighting the “Pandemic” with Economics: influence of COVID-19 on economics and corresponding countermeasures (Fudan University Press), Beautiful China: from concept to action, Addressing Climate Change: promoting carbon dioxide reduction through market policies (Science Press) and Chinese and World Economic Growth under Multiple Shocks (Fudan University Press), and translated three books: Financial Econometrics: statistical analysis of financial markets (China Machine Press).

Currently serving as a courtesy professor at FISF, a professor and the deputy dean of the School of Economics, Fudan University, and the chief expert of National Social Science Fund Major Projects, concurrently holding positions of Vice President of the Insurance Society of China, Vice President of the Commercial Insurance Branch of the China Association of Social Security, Vice Chairman of the Commercial Health Insurance Committee of the China Health Insurance Research Association, Vice President of the Shanghai Insurance Institute, and Member of the National Insurance Master’s Degree Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, and also working as an editorial board member of journals such as Disaster Prevention and Management, Insurance Studies, and China Insurance.
Yan Gu
Researcher at FISF
PhD in Applied Economics at Fudan University
Yan Gu has long been engaged in academic and policy research in the fields of corporate finance, green finance, and corporate innovation. His work has been published in leading Chinese and international journals such as Journal of Corporate Finance, World Economy, and Financial Research, with several papers recognized as highly cited. He was named a CNKI National Highly Cited Scholar in both 2024 and 2025. He has received a number of awards, including the Journal of Corporate Finance Awards (2024) Best Paper Prize–Runner Up, the Outstanding Paper Award of the 2023 Financial Street Forum, the Outstanding Paper Award of the 18th Annual Academic Conference of the Shanghai Social Sciences Federation, and the Second Prize of the Research on Major Issues of Shanghai’s “13th Five-Year” Plan (Open Selection). Moreover, he has served as Principal Investigator for several research projects, including a project sponsored by the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Planning Fund, a project under the Shanghai “Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan” Soft Science Research Program, and a project funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (General Program). Several of his policy consultation reports have been adopted or received directives from Central and Shanghai municipal leaders or departments.
