The 1st Fudan FISF Fintech Business Plan Competition in 2020 Successfully Concluded

After 50 days of anticipation, on July 11th, the first Fudan FISF Fintech Business Plan Competition came was broadcasted on the Xiaoyu Platform. There were 6 teams competing in the final and over 6000 assistance votes cast in total by online voting channels.

The competition was hosted by Fudan FISF Fintech Influence Competition Organizing Committee and, from its conception, acquired strong support from FISF. Apart from the mighty group of industry mentors, Professor Zhang Chunxin, Deputy Dean of Academics of FISF, built a star judging team with Assistant Professor Song Siqi and Mr. Zhou Liwei, Director of Overseas Liaison Office of China Technology Entrepreneurship Association Incubation Alliance, cooperating to ignite a competitive atmosphere of business fight.

In the first round, the 6 teams made business case presentations, and two teams, Spirit of The Horse and Dragon and Paternity Test, scored with the best marks, determined by the mentor group to advance to the second round.

On the debating stage, the competitors had a fierce battle of words, creating a nervous and exciting atmosphere and arousing the eagerness of onlookers to also have a go at debating. In the end, by edging out with the business case of "Sugar Helpers - Angel Nurses for Patients with Moderate to Severe Diabetes Mellitus", Spirit of the Horse and Dragon Team won the championship, with Paternity Test coming in a close second.

Judges and Mentor’s Words

Having witnessed, in the past 50 days, the dedication and growth of the 6 teams, the three mentors were quite touched.

Wu Mingyi held that the business plans presented by all the teams made great breakthroughs compared with the preliminary competition, the teams did not simply pursue "grand and delicate" business modes.

Li Wengang first affirmed the dedication of the competitors, and then emphasized the importance of "due diligence" in business plans. He encouraged students to have a deep understanding of their industries and companies from various aspects in their future work or entrepreneurship so that the pain points can be precisely extracted.

Mr. Zhou Liwei poined that the practicability of business plans is essential, which played a major role in the winning team's championship performance.

To appreciate the caring guidance of the industry mentors, the competition organizing committee awarded Wu Mingyi, Li Wengang and Li Peilun the title of Lifelong Honorary Mentor of Fudan FISF Fintech.

We are all grateful to Mr. Wengang for his careful guidance. Though this is just a campus competition, he always demanded us to treat it like a real scenario and that inspired us in making our business plan. Our plan is not perfect but we have learned many things during the process, from the deconstruction of pain points to industry analysis, from product planning to competitor surveys, all of which give us the pure joy of starting our own business while also making self-improvement.
