Q1 What sets the EMF program apart?

Rigor, Relevance and Responsibility are the most important qualities that set the EMF Program apart from the rest.

Rigor is provided by our exceptional faculty, generating some of the most important research in the field. Our well-designed curriculum taught by the professors provides for a solid foundational understanding of the core theories and constructs of modern finance.

Relevance is delivered through our practical LIVE learning focus, commitment to professional development, and deep industry interactions. It ensures that what students are taught is firmly rooted in industry and that our students are equipped to make an immediate impact on the global finance industry.

Responsibility is the seed from which our passion grows, as the deep care that our constituents show toward their role in their communities, the industry, and the world shines through in all we do.

The admission process aims to identify the high-potential young minds around the globe. All of our international students are from world top universities, possessing an outstanding academic background, professional passion and aiming to become a future leader in the field of finance. Our current EMF body consists of international students from 17 countries and regions including graduates from University of Oxford, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, National University of Singapore, LSE, UCL, University of Toronto, University of Hong Kong, etc.

Q2 What is LIVE Learning Project?

Towards the end of each learning module, students will be tasked to apply their classroom learning by undertaking a project designed by our industry partners. Instructors for the project are composed of lecture professors and industry experts, and students are required to work in teams and assessed by reports and presentations.

Such LIVE learning pedagogy aims to help students to transfer the knowledge they have learned from the previous lectures into their own practical understanding, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, workplace abilities and behaviors. It is a leap from traditional class-room learning, which ensures that what our students are taught is firmly rooted in industry and that our students are equipped to make an immediate impact on the globe.

Q3 What is Overseas Module?

EMF program offers students two opportunities each academic year to study for 7-10 days in other global financial centers in Asia, Europe, and North America. During these international learning trips, students will take courses, visit companies, engage with business leaders, thereby understand the different cultures and industry values around the globe, and inspire more possibilities of their own future paths.

In 2019, students went to San Francisco for their first overseas module. They have successfully completed corresponding learning sessions at our partner institutions, Stanford University, and University of California, Berkeley. They also engaged and interacted with business leaders from rising enterprises in Silicon Valley.

Students are required to take one Overseas Module during their study at EMF, and the tuition fee and accommodation fee of one Overseas Module are included in the total EMF tuition.
