“The Great SDGs Challenge - Action Learning To Define Cross Boarder Impact Investing” is the topic to be co-presented by Dr. Charles Chang, Deputy Dean of Academics, Professor of Finance at Fanhai International School of Finance at Fudan University (FISF) and Mr. Allan Chou, Founder of RAIDiCal and Global Advisor to “The Great SDGs Challenge” initiative at the QS Higher Ed Summit Asia Pacific 2022 on November 8th.
The presentation will provide insights into the innovative design thinking for this year’s Responsibility and Ethics module of the C.A.R.E. (Culture, Art, Responsibility and Ethics) coursework for the Elite Master of Finance (EMF) students at FISF. The event took place on April 24, 2022, lasting exactly eight (hours).
The final output is a blue paper titled “Youth Social Enterprises in Asia-Pacific: Connectivity With China” that connects the dots between social enterprises being incubated by the United Nations Development Program’s (UNDP) Youth Co:Lab Hub in Thailand and those comparable SDGs startups in China.
“We are extremely happy to showcase and share our work in delivering innovative coursework and pedagogical tools to push out objective-driven deliverables in sustainable development and ESG deployment, as part of our commitment to action learning,” said Dr. Chang, “The Great SDGs Challenge is a model of how we can optimize learning at a cutting-edge finance curriculum in real-time so we are driving the changes needed to address critical global issues.”
The students released their finding on July 17th, World Youth Skills Day, because the deliverable from this year’s Responsibility and Ethics module exemplifies the basic skillsets needed by today’s finance professionals, including the ability to quickly and fully comprehend and complete due diligence, the analytical mindset to provide dependable analysis about a variety of subject matter, and the fundamentals of cross border impact investing.
“The Great SDGs Challenge is designed to provide top business students around the globe to quickly but definitively understand the vital importance of how to deploy the Global Goals in the utmost impactful way possible”, explained Mr. Chou, advisor of the Challenge, “We need to help the students to learn and work together to make an impact right away, not only after they’ve graduated.”
This year’s QS Higher Ed Summit Asia Pacific 2022 will be a three-day hybrid program - taking place at InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah, Indonesia, on 8-10 November, 9.00am - 10.00pm (Jakarta, GMT+7) - will include Workshops, Masterclasses and Interactive Panels led by higher education professionals on the following track topics: The unknown unknowns | New school education | Asking the right questions on climate | Equitable partnerships | Lifelong skills in a changing world | Equal opportunities for all.
