Professor Shiyi Chen Serves as Distinguished Director of Guizhou Collaborative Innovation Center for Green Finance and Ecological Protection, Attending Construction Promotion Conference of the Center and Making Project Demonstration Report

In April 2022, to further implement the decision deployment of Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, the Department of Education of Guizhou Province established a series of key scientific and technological projects focusing on “new paths, new situations, new opportunities, new achievements” and “new industrialization, new urbanization, agriculture modernization, tourism industrialization.” From this deployment the project of Guizhou Collaborative Innovation Center for Green Finance and Ecological Protection was established relying on Guizhou University of Finance and Economics. On May 15th, with Guizhou University of Finance and Economics as the leading unit, the construction promotion conference of Guizhou Collaborative Innovation Center for Green Finance and Ecological Protection was jointly declared by Fudan University and Guizhou Normal University was held at Guizhou University of Finance and Economics. Shiyi Chen, Distinguished Professor at FISF, Director of Fudan Green Finance Research Center, and Deputy Party Secretary and Executive Vice President at Anhui University, now serving as the distinguished director of Guizhou Collaborative Innovation Center for Green Finance and Ecological Protection, attended the construction promotion conference of the center and made a detailed project demonstration report.

Also present at the conference together with Professor Shiyi Chen included: Yao Wang, Dean of International Institute of Green Finance, Central University of Finance and Economics, Ye Guo, Professor at the School of Economics, Lixia Ding, Director of Zhejiang Quzhou People’s Government Financial Work Office, Peng Ma, Director of Guizhou Local Financial Supervision Bureau (Provincial Financial Work Office) Coordination Service Division, Fangjun Ding, Vice President of Guizhou Academy of Forestry, Zaibo Yang, Ecological Environment Inspector of Guizhou Department of Ecological Environment, and other experts and leaders. The conference was hosted by Rui Hu, Director of Guizhou Department of Education Science and Technology Division. Relevant leaders, functional department directors and research center representatives of Guizhou Department of Education, Guizhou University of Finance and Economy, Fudan University and Guizhou Normal University also attended the conference.

At the conference, Professor Shiyi Chen made a detailed project demonstration report to the present experts，mainly focusing on multiple aspects of the construction of the center, such as the operation and management mechanism, technical challenges to be overcome, expected objectives and outputs and tripartite division of rights and duties in the cooperation agreement.

Peng Ma mainly discussed the basic situation, major existing difficulties, problems and research suggestions of the green finance work in Guizhou and introduced to the participants the current development of the reform of green finance in Guizhou and the demands of the research project.

Respectively in the representation of the leading unit and core units of the construction of the center, Guizhou University of Finance and Economy, Guizhou Normal University and Fudan University made reports to the attending experts on the basis of their own disciplinary advantages upon the research foundation, research condition, research group, coordination mechanism, existing problems and difficulties and future work plan and expected target in the next step.

The expert team gave high regard and recognition of the preliminary preparation and central positioning of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Green Finance and Ecological Protection, and offered constructive guidance on the construction of the center according to their own work experience and research fields as well as New No.2 Document of State Council. Combining the demonstration opinions of the experts, participants conducted further exchanges and discussions on the construction of the center, and Guizhou Department of Education Science and Technology Division put forward relevant work requirements on the construction scheme and scientific and technological output of the center.
