The Seventh Anniversary of Fudan International School of Finance

As is said in Chuang Tzu: Imputed Words, “The first year I was a bumpkin, the second I followed along, the third I worked into it......the seventh the Heavenly part was complete.”

In 2024, FISF was officially renamed Fudan International School of Finance, which is a compliance with the trend of epoch development, striding forward toward a brand-new development stage with the historical mission of building a strong country with finance.

The brand-new school motto of “Unification FISF; Excellence, Responsibility, Innovation” represents our firm faith and ceaseless struggle in pursuing the completion of the “First Fudan” construction, “Five Centers” construction in Shanghai, and the realization of high-quality development!

◆In unification with China, consolidating the basis of education and enhancing the spirit of culture for the high-quality development of Chinese finance;  

◆In unification with far-sighted personage from all walks of life, seeing from international perspectives and taking root in Chinese practices with the purpose of moral value establishment, people cultivation and social commitment.

Excellence

is a spiritual pursuit of constantly exceeding limitations and reaching higher levels.

◆Over the seven years since its official establishment, our professorial team has expanded to 55 people, including multiple senior professors who have acquired tenured titles in first-rate business schools in the world, and those who act as academic pacesetters in their respective fields of financial and economic disciplines, having a wide knowledge of both ancient and modern times and of both China and western countries. On the other hand, practice professors, visiting professors, part-time professors from international organizations, government units and senior management of enterprise institutions are willing to set an example by personally taking part in the financial practices taught to students, helping them integrate knowledge and action and pursue excellence and perfection.

◆In academic research, there have been 155 papers by 38 professors in total successively accepted to be published in academic journals famous at home and abroad, among which 59 papers were published in international level-A+ and level-A journals. Some key awards won by our several professors also demonstrate the great influence of our academic achievements. Their academic research not only provided new perspectives for the development of financial theories but also offered feasible solutions in practice.

Responsibility

refers to a mission to apply talents in practices and achieve excellence through responsibility.

◆The 11 think tank research centers focusing on various themes like green finance, real estate finance, fintech, aviation and shipping industry finance have gathered high-end financial talents from all walks of life, forming a high-end open think tank platform with ties to the government, industry and academia. Moreover, within the past seven years, they have formally released over 100 think tank achievements with both policy and social influence.

means a thinking method, an attitude to find a way out through thistles and thorns.  

◆Over the seven years, we have launched a series of programs, including financial undergraduate (oriented to fintech), Advanced Master of Finance, Elite Master of Finance, Financial MBA, Financial EMBA and CUHK-FISF Joint DBA, Executive Education Public Coursesa and various internal training courses, winning wide recognition from students and the society. We are more pleased to see excellent graduates rooted in their respective positions, utilizing the power of finance to serve various industries, promote high-quality development and bring happiness to more people.

◆The dual degree program between FISF and Columbia Engineering is being promoted comprehensively, and a financial doctoral program is also to be officially launched, further contributing to the construction of an internationalized high-end financial education product series most complete in China.

◆The “Fudan Financial Public Course” launched by the school has published a total of 108 sessions, attracting over 100 million audience. In addition, “Fudan Financial Investment Course”, “Fudan Financial Public Welfare Course” and other series of courses have also become the “golden name cards” of online education at Fudan University. The journal Fudan Financial Review born in cooperation with the School of Economics has put out 17 issues, making a critical reference for the academia and industry with its profound insights and wide coverage.
