The Seventh Anniversary of Fudan International School of Finance

Dear fellow teachers, students and friends!

The International School of Finance at Fudan University is anticipating its seventh anniversary. On behalf of the International School of Finance at Fudan University, I hereby extend warm congratulations to all teachers, students and staff, as well as sincere thanks to all walks of life and friends who care about and support the development of the school!

Looking over the past seven years, life is like a song. Since its establishment, the school has broadened its global vision, shaping top financial talents for the development of the Chinese economy and world economy and building a world-class business school that understands China’s finance in the new era. Over the past seven years, we have made a series of remarkable achievements in several sectors such as the faculty team construction, academic and think tank research and financial talent cultivation while giving back in response to the support and kindness we have received from Fudan University and people from all walks of life.

Concerning the faculty team, there have been two more professors joining our school in 2024, bringing the number of our first-rate faculty team up to 60, including multiple senior professors who have acquired tenured titles in first-rate business schools in the world, and those who act as academic pacesetters in their respective fields of financial and economic disciplines, having a wide knowledge of both ancient and modern times and of both China and western countries. On the other hand, practice professors, visiting professors and part-time professors from international organizations, government units and senior management of enterprise institutions have also made extraordinary contributions to talent cultivation.

In academic research, there have been 155 papers by 38 professors in total successively accepted to be published in academic journals famous at home and abroad, among which 59 papers were published in international level-A+ and level-A journals. Some key awards won by our several professors also demonstrate the great influence of our academic achievements. This academic research not only provided new perspectives for the development of financial theories but also offered feasible solutions in practice.

In think tank research, the 11 thinktank research centers focusing on various themes like green finance, real estate finance, fintech and aviation and shipping industry finance have gathered high-end financial talents from all walks of life, forming a high-end open thinktank platform with government-industry-university combination. Moreover, within the past seven years, they have formally released over 100 think tank achievements with both policy and social influence.

In talent cultivation, our school has successfully launched a series of programs, including financial undergraduate (oriented to fintech), Advanced Master of Finance, Elite Master of Finance, Financial MBA, Financial EMBA and CUHK-FISF Joint DBA, Executive Education Public Courses, and various internal training courses, winning wide recognition from students and the society. We are also proud of every excellent graduate who displayed their distinguished talents and potential in their respective positions with their outstanding professionalism and great practical ability.

Furthermore, the “Fudan Financial Public Course” launched by the school has published a total of 108 sessions, attracting over 100 million audience. In addition, “Fudan Financial Investment Course,” “Fudan Financial Public Welfare Course” and other series of courses have also become the “golden name cards” of online education at Fudan University. The journal Fudan Financial Review born in cooperation with the School of Economics has put out 17 issues, making a critical reference for the academia and industry with its profound insights and wide coverage.

Currently, the world is going through great changes unprecedentedly seen in a century, with both harsh challenges and enormous opportunities. We have acquired fruitful results in the past seven years, and looking out into the future and guided by the school motto of “Unification FISF; Excellence, Responsibility, Innovation,” our school is bound to constantly exceed limitations, set sail afar carrying the original aspiration and enter a new brilliant chapter!
