On January 8th 2025, Jun Qian, Executive Dean of Fudan International School of Finance and Professor in Finance, and his delegation paid a visit to Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, having work talks with the leadership of Yuncheng Municipal People's Government and signing the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation. Opening a whole new chapter of collaboration between academia and local government.
Xianghao Chu, Secretary of Yuncheng Municipal Committee, led the government team and both parties conducted in-depth work talks.
Xianghao Chu expressed welcome to Jun Qian and his delegation on behalf of Yuncheng Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government. He introduced the economic and social development in Yuncheng and conveyed his hope that FISF would utilize its professional advantages in talents and disciplines to carry out deep cooperation with Yuncheng in multiple aspects like strategic consulting, education and training, industrial development and so on, so that high-quality resources could be gathered and shifted to Yuncheng and a new chapter of municipality-university cooperation could be initiated.
Dean Jun Qian gave a general introduction of the school along with its contributions to economic development. He stated that Yuncheng has complete industrial foundation, high-quality cultural and tourism resources and a good atmosphere for investment, so he expressed confidence in its development and would further enhance bilateral communication so as to contribute the wisdom and strength of FISF to local economic and social development by facilitating financial empowerment and deepening talent cultivation.
Members of the FISF delegation also present at the talk were Huasheng Gao, Deputy Secretary of General Party Branch, Deputy Dean and Professor in Finance, Donghui Shi, Professor in Finance and Academic Director of FEMBA Program and CUHK-FISF DBA Program, Yan Wang, Director of Executive Education Department (E.E.D.), Jingming Lu, Director of FEMBA Program, Jiajie Xu, Director of FISF Online Education Program, and two student representatives of FEMBA Program, namely Lina Du, Board Chairman of Fengchun Health Management (Shanghai) Group Co., Ltd, and Yuhui Li, CEO of Changzhou BTR New Material Technology Co., Ltd. Representatives of Yuncheng also included Xun Yao, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, Ye Zhao, Standing Member of the Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Organization Department, Yongqi Xue, Deputy Mayor, Jianjun Zhang, Deputy Secretary General of the Municipal Party Committee, Fengbin Huang, Deputy Secretary General of the Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Municipal Investment Center, Zicheng Zhao, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Yuncheng Development Zone and Director of the Management Committee, Genhu Bai, Director of the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and Jiaoxi Yin, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Municipal Government in Beijing (Shanghai, Guangzhou).
After the work talk, Deputy Dean Huasheng Gao and Deputy Mayor Yongqi Xue signed the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation on behalf of Fudan’s International School of Finance and Yuancheng Municipal People's Government. Under the principles of “complementary advantages, resource sharing and win-win cooperation”, both parties would integrate resources and utilize their own strengths to support and participate in the construction of Yuncheng City, especially in its financial innovation and development. They also aimed to stimulate Yuncheng’s economic restructuring and industrial upgrade, build a gateway city that undertakes industrial transfer in priority, and jointly help Yuncheng achieve the strategic goal of constructing “one city, two districts, and three gateways,” which would then raise Yuncheng’s competitiveness in China and even in the world, and accelerate the regional economic optimization and upgrading. In the future, wider cooperation and experience exploration would be conducted in a variety of perspectives including but not limited to financial platform establishment, talent cultivation and exchange, subject studies and achievement transformation, financial innovation services, financial risk prevention and control.
