A global seismic shift is underway as COVID-19 pandemic swept across the world, marking a turning point in human history. China’s economy, though, has emerged from the shadow of the pandemic. Its reform and opening up is bucking the trend and humming along. However, much remains unknown and evolving about COVID; Recovery is still unsteady and unbalanced in the complex and bleak world economic landscape. How will global capital markets and world economy evolve in light of new financial and economic realities? What will be the viable road ahead for China’s economy and financial sector?
All these questions have called forth the Forum on Global Capital Markets and Economic Outlook, organized by Fudan International School of Finance, Fudan University on January 27th 2021. Top-notched scholars and industry heavyweights are going to put their heads together and share insights on global capital markets and world economy, fintech innovations, and China’s financial future.
The Forum will theme around two important, hotly debated and much discussed topics – capital markets in China and the world, and financial technologies. The birth of China’s stock market 30 years ago was celebrated with the signing of the RCEP and EU-China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment. How should China go from there, taking further steps out into the world and making its voice heard? With a robust development of Fintech, digital currency, and financial applications for blockchain in China, how will all this be harnessed to fuel future growth? You will benefit from the unique perspectives this Forum has to offer.
Impressive lineup of speakers includes Dr. Hyun Song Shin, Economic Adviser and Head of Research from Bank for International Settlement, and Dr. Jianguang Shen, Vice President of JD Group & Chief Economist of JD Digits Global. Dr Hyun Song Shin was Professor of Economics at Princeton University.
