Staged breakthroughs:

Enterprises going overseas need to go through different stages from 0 to 1, from 1 to 10 and to 100, each with unique challenges and strategies. The initial stage needs balanced marketing and compliance; while the middle to late stage requires technology innovation and cross-culture management to realize the transition from survival to leadership.

Large customer base strategy:

By keeping close relations to its large customer base, Huawei has achieved referral funnel explosion and market breakthrough. Such strategies not only enables Huawei to get a firm foothold in the global market but also offers reference for other Chinese enterprises.

Organizational vitality and sense of mission

In face of the complexity and variability of the international market, the organizational vitality and sense of mission of an enterprise are of great significance. The struggle and persistence of Huawei people in overseas markets are just a demonstration of this spiritual strength.

Long-termism and global perspective:

Going overseas is not just to look for a way out and more opportunities, but more a key channel to increase an enterprise’s global competitiveness. Chinese enterprises need to be equipped with the spirit of long-termism, as a real globalized enterprise must look beyond short-term benefits, enhance its cross-culture communication and management skills, and make plans for future development from a global perspective.
