A Review of the First Day for Freshmen of FISF 2025 FMBA PT+ | FMBA

On September 6^th 2025, the school opening activities for 2025 freshmen of FISF FMBA PT+ were successfully conducted at Handan Campus, Fudan University. The new students received professors’ earnest teachings at the opening ceremony, listened to the meticulous admission guidance at the orientation meeting, and experienced the 120-year glory of Fudan at the School History Museum. Over the fulfilling and meaningful day, students of 2025 FMBA PT+ has been greatly enriched, and filled with anticipation for the academic journey that lies ahead.

Solemn opening ceremony

The grand opening ceremony of 2025 freshmen of Fudan International School of Finance was solemnly held at Xianghui Hall, Fudan University. Jing Lu, President and Vice Board Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited; Yuejiang Li, Secretary of FISF Party General Branch; Jun Qian, Executive Dean and Professor in Finance; Charles Zhang, Deputy Dean and Professor in Finance; Huasheng Gao, Deputy Dean and Professor in Finance, along with professors and teachers at FISF, were all present at the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Huasheng Gao, Deputy Dean of FISF and Professor in Finance. All the new students of 2025 FMBA PT+ gathered at Xianghui Hall to embrace a new journey together.

In his speech, FISF Party General Branch Secretary Yuejiang Li looked back on the development history of FISF and looked ahead to the future missions and visions. He talked about his wish that Fudan Finance should be constructed as a world-class financial discipline. Ms. Jing Lu, President and Vice Board Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited, congratulated the students upon their entry into FISF, and thanked Fudan for its constant efforts in supplying talents to the financial industry. Professor Jun Qian sent words to the freshmen: Choosing Fudan means you have chosen to stand at the forefront in the trend of global financial reforms. Hope you can hand in a perfect answer sheet of your own when we gather again at Xianghui Hall in two or four years.

Yue Hong gave a speech as the freshman representative of 2025 FMBA. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in econometrics and maths, and joined the Bank of Communications after returning to China, engaged in corporate credit work. In his work, he became deeply aware of the importance of combining theory with practice, so he chose to return to school by joining FISF. In the next two years, he hoped to delve into deep study with a receptive mind, learn from his fellow students with an open heart and apply knowledge to practice with unwavering dedication. He would bear the university motto in mind and integrate personal growth into the broader context of building China into a financial powerhouse, striving to make achievements and forge ahead!

Guiding orientation meeting

After the solemn opening ceremony, the 2025 freshmen came to the new building of Fudan International School of Finance, which welcomed its first batch of students after being launched. The brand-new environment, advanced teaching facilities and vibrant academic culture of the school filled them with great expectations for the future studies.

With a program teacher hosting, the guiding class meeting upon admission officially started. Professor Wenbin Wu, Academic Director of FMBA PT+, introduced to the students the curriculum cultivation system of FMBA, and explained the execution and principles of the program’s distinctive practical courses of LIVE and L.I.T.E., as well as its aim to cultivate future leaders in financial management with both theoretical knowledge and practical capability, as well as a global vision, innovative thinking and a sense of responsibility. The enrollment teacher announced the list of 2025 Student Ambassador and instructed them to take the oath. Teacher Wenbin Wu personally granted letters of appointment to the student ambassadors, which was not just a recognition of their individual abilities, but more of an expectation for their future work.

Then came the letter writing session of the class meeting - “a letter for future selves in two years”. Students picked up pens and seriously wrote down their expectations and guarantees for the future, and placed the letters in the mailbox. This allowed the students to make a clear plan of the next two years while also adding a special meaning to their journey of learning about to start.

Teachers from various departments of the school meticulously introduced the operation guidance of the IT system and academic administration system, the learning schedule of the overseas module and the student activities in the next two years. 2024 Senior Student Dongjie Yu also shared his unforgettable experience of attending the Asia-Pacific MBA Desert Challenge and encouraged the freshmen to actively take part in various activities to consolidate their understanding of and friendship with each other.

Visit to the School History Museum of Fudan University

With fruitful gains and in an excited mood, 2025 FMBAers came to the School History Museum of Fudan University. In the museum, every valuable relic, yellowed photo and vivid writing seemed to be whispering tales of a century of trials and triumphs at Fudan University.

From the great hardships in the early stage of school establishment to the robust development nowadays, each period of history thrilled and inspired the students. They stood in front of the display cabinets and listened carefully to the guide’s introduction, breaking out in exclamations of admiration from time to time. The museum is not simply a historic witness to Fudan, but more a spiritual homeland for each Fudaner. Here the students can get close to Fudan’s profound cultural foundation and academic tradition, and have become more determined to burden the missions and responsibilities as a member of Fudan FMBA.

Through all these events, including the solemnly held opening ceremony, the rich and engaging class meeting, and the significant visit to the School History Museum, the 2025 new students have got a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the long history and rich cultural heritage of Fudan University as well as the distinctive features and teaching excellence of FISF. At the same time, a seed has been sowed in their heart, a quiet yet blossoming anticipation for the coming two years at Fudan, when they will initiate a new journey of learning and living with confidence and expectations.
