Registration Open for GIFS on AI and Finance

GIFS is an action-driven symposium that unites academic and industry leaders with MBA students worldwide to facilitate thought leadership in sustainability and economic responsibility. It has attracted distinguished students from all programs of Fudan University as well as students from top universities around the world. The summit inspires dialogue and collaborative efforts on challenging global issues with a new theme each year.

The intersection between AI and finance presents vast opportunities and challenges. On one hand, generative AI has transformative powers in problem-solving and business operations, making investment in this field a crucial step towards sparking a new era of innovation and progress. Furthermore, AI improves risk management, forecasting accuracy, and streamlines operations in financial sector. On the other hand, there are concerns about job loss, data privacy and uncertainties in future regulations. The GIFS will bring together experts and MBA students to discuss emerging trends in this field.

Xipeng Qiu is a professor at the School of Computer Science, Fudan University. He serves as a director of the Chinese Information Society of China and of the Natural Language Processing Committee of the Shanghai Computer Society. His research interests include natural language processing and deep learning. He has published more than 80 top journal/conference papers and won the ACL 2017 Outstanding Paper Award (CCF Class A), the CCL 2019 Best Paper Award, and the 2021 High-Influence Paper Award of " Science China Technological Sciences". He is also the director of the Fudan University MOSS platform, an open-source conversational large language model like ChatGPT and which supports both Chinese and English languages.

Jimmy Zhou has rich experience in domestic and foreign artificial intelligence industry investment and capital operation. He had served as a partner of Chengding Capital and a director of Cedarlake Capital and also worked in the investment banking department of Morgan Stanley Huaxin Securities and CICC. Jimmy Zhou graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in management.

Haidong Chen is the AIGC Industry Lead Solution Architect of Alibaba Cloud and the Former Director of Infrastructure of Daraz. He specializes in e-commerce industry solutions and compliance, fraud risk, cloud-native and data and AI solutions. He migrated Daraz from AWS to Alibaba Cloud and extends gitops to MLops with the PAI platform. He is also the President of Fudan Singapore Alumni Association.

Allan Chou is Global Advisor to GIFS and an adjunct instructor teaching Corporate Innovation and Social Responsibility at FISF. He is the founder of RAIDiCal, an early stage tech fund of funds advisory based in Shanghai and an Honorary Ambassador to the Asia Berlin Summit and to the Island Innovation organization on sustainability. Previously the Chief Marketing Officer at Rocket Space China and partner at Garage Cafe in Beijing.
